Drawing inspiration from the same golden era of Italian cinema that influenced The Fretted Neck, this collection shifts focus to the upright piano, creating dark and suspenseful arrangements that echo through empty corridors and descend spiral staircases. Each composition marries the percussive intimacy of felt hammers on steel strings with complementary instrumentation to craft a sonic palette perfect for contemporary productions seeking that distinctive Giallo atmosphere.

This sample pack features a rich palette of instruments expertly arranged and performed: the intimacy of a vintage upright piano takes centre stage, complemented by uniquely textured Kangaroo-hide drums, electric and nylon guitars, resonant vibraphone, Hammond organ, clavinet, and assorted percussion. The compositions pay deliberate homage to the masterful Giallo soundtracks of Italian composers Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, and Piero Umiliani, channelling their distinctive approach to creating tension and atmosphere.
